Students who plan to transfer to pursue a
bachelor's degree should note that the suggested curricula are
simply aids in planning and that substitutions or changes may be
made depending upon the background and needs of the individual
students and the requirements of a specific four-year college or
university.
The college encourages students who plan to transfer from BSC
to consult the catalog of the four-year institution to examine
prerequisites for continued college study.
Students enrolled in technical programs should note
that these programs are designed to provide students with the
skills and knowledge for entry-level employment (job readiness)
in their selected occupation. Length of the technical programs
ranges from one to two years.
Courses of the programs listed as being designed for
job readiness are not designed for transfer, and in most
cases, will not transfer to a four-year institution. There are
some exceptions, however, and students should consult
with their adviser concerning transferability of courses.
Three exceptions involve baccalaureate degrees offered
by Bismarck State College, Minot State University and
Dickinson State University. Bismarck State College will
offer a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Energy
Management, which is expected to begin in January 2008.
The BAS program will be offered online and is designed
for students who have completed the AAS degree in BSC's
energy education programs.

Many of the programs have limits on the
number of students accepted in any single year. Admission to
these programs is on a first-come, first served basis. Early
application is recommended to assure potential students a place
in the class they wish to enter.
Information regarding enrollment limits and whether a program
is designed for transfer or job readiness is noted at the
beginning of each program or curriculum listing.
Availability of courses is subject to change whenever
such changes are deemed necessary (or based upon availability of
resources or student enrollment).
