About 300 people attended the Aug. 21
dedication ceremony and open house of
BSC’s new residence hall, named for president
emeritus Kermit Lidstrom. The crowd
of employees, retirees and friends of Dr. Lidstrom
and his wife, Patty, overflowed the
Great Room into the L-shaped lobby.
In his remarks, Dr. Lidstrom gave a brief
overview of the College’s history and mentioned
a few of the many successful graduates
of the first class of 1941.
He closed with some expressions
of gratitude, including to
the 1976-77 Bismarck School
Board, who sifted through 107
applications and ultimately
selected Lidstrom as the fourth
CEO of BSC.
“A special thanks to the BSC
employees, past and present,
who have enrolled their own
children at BSC. Now that is
the ultimate endorsement,” he
said.
The 35,000 sq. ft. Lidstrom
Hall is divided into four pods
to house nearly 80 students.
Each pod includes four suites
designed for four students per
suite to share a common living
area, restroom and two
bedrooms. It is located east of
Swensen Hall, the women’s
residence.
All residence halls are full, with approximately
280 students living on campus this
fall.
