Carol Moreland, a librarian at BSC from 1964-1981, died Sept. 17, 2008, in Palm Harbor, Fla., after a lengthy illness. She was 87.

Moreland earned her master’s degree in library science from the University of Denver in 1961. She was librarian at Bismarck High School from 1957-64, and she also used her organizational skills to assist with other cataloging projects in the community.

When she retired from BSC, Carol Moreland Day was proclaimed in her honor. She volunteered for many years at Medcenter One, where she organized the medical library, and at the N.D. Heritage Center. She moved to Palm Harbor in 2000.
