The BSC Foundation recognized 70 employees for years of service during the annual holiday party. Gordon Binek, vice president for college advancement and federal relations, introduced the recipients, while BSC Foundation President Curt Walth presented awards.
David Sitte, associate professor of political science, earned recognition for 40 years of teaching and campus leadership. He chairs the Social Science, Humanities and Education Department and is past president of the All-Campus Senate and BSC representative to the State Council of College Faculties.
Receiving 35-year awards were Lloyd Anderson, associate professor of psychology; Linda Fossum, payroll accountant; and James Wright, associate professor of management and chair of the Business Department.

Anderson served as BSC's first vice president of instruction, as well as dean of university parallel instruction, registrar, director of admissions and community services, and Faculty Senate president. Fossum has been active at campus and state levels in the ConnectND project as it relates to payroll. Wright has been a lead advisor in the student advising process and served several years as BSC representative on the State Council of College Faculties. The 30-year award was presented to Allen Dockter, retired agribusiness faculty member; Pat Gross, IVN/ITV and audiovisual coordinator; Jane Schulz, dean of instruction; and Debbie Van Berkom, executive assistant to the president. Dockter has continued involvement with the ag department. Gross served as North Dakota's representative on the Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunications steering committee and was twice chair of the N.D. IVN Site Coordinators. Schulz leads the Assessment Committee and was instrumental in BSC obtaining approval for the Bachelor of Applied Science degree. She also was director of institutional research, Learning First coordinator, and a librarian. Van Berkom has served three BSC presidents and was vice chair of the Presidential Search Committee last year. Other roles include Learning First coordinator and alumni coordinator. Five employees received 25-year awards: Mary Eisenbraun, business office manager; Pam Ogaard, computer science and math lecturer; Barb Perry, professor of speech; Eunice Smith, associate professor of business and office technology; and Lyle Warner, associate professor of agriculture, technology and natural resources. Recognized with 20-year awards were Drake Carter, associate vice president for academic affairs; Robert Kuntz, chief buildings and grounds officer; Pam Kostelecky, physical education lecturer; and Keith Schelske, maintenance. Fifteen-year recipients were Holly Burch, assistant professor of power plant and process plant technology; Jan Dralle, information processing specialist with CETI (Continuing Education, Training and Innovation); Karla Gabriel, dean of admissions and enrollment services; Carla Braun Hixson, associate vice president for CETI; AnnMarie Kajencki, professor of English; Michael Kern, associate professor of mathematics; Keith Landeis, assistant professor of electrical lineworker; Kristie Petersen, food service supervisor; Daniel Rogers, associate professor of theatre and speech; and Ivan Tschider, associate professor of economics. Ten-year awards went to Lisa Aamodt, accounting lecturer; Lois Carley, custodian; Carol Flaa, systems administrator; Lee Friese, assistant professor of auto technology and chair of the Transportation and Construction Department; Virginia George, political science lecturer; Arlene Gray, music lecturer; Mike Holman, assistant professor of electronics/telecommunications; Cathy Janikowski, clinical laboratory technology education and outreach coordinator; Cindy Mormann, student records office assistant; Sheryl Omlid, speech lecturer; Russell Riehl, speech lecturer; Dennis Rohr, criminal justice lecturer; Jeff Skibicki, associate professor of mathematics; Michael Wardzinski, criminal justice lecturer; and Eva Wentz, cook.
