Line Construction - Distribution system technicians install, modify, maintain, troubleshoot and repair overhead and underground distribution systems situated between the distribution substations and the end user customers of the utility system. This includes overhead lines, pole-top transformers, regulators and capacitor banks as well as underground cables, manholes, pad-mounted transformers and load-break disconnecting devices. Distribution system technicians must also be certified to perform switching and establishing safe work clearances.
