advanced electrical power education straight from the source

The National Energy Center of Excellence is proud to offer the online Electrical Transmission Systems Technology (ETST) program. The ETST program was created in response to industry demand for qualified system operators.

This program is designed to teach students about the electrical power system in North America, including basic electricity, generation, distribution, and transmission, with a strong emphasis on system operations. System operations is the aspect of the energy industry that deals with the management, delivery, safety, and reliability of the wholesale electrical power market.

The program is also set up to offer NERC CEHs combined with college credit for those who wish to maintain certification requirements and work towards a college degree.

Students have the following options:
  • Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Electrical Transmission Systems Technology
  • Program Certificate in Electrical Transmission Systems Technology
  • Electrical Transmission Systems Courses
    • College Courses for Professional Development.
    • CEH-only Courses for NERC Accreditation
Access to course work will be available 24/7 over the Internet, making participation flexible for shift workers already in the industry.
