generate a future in a powerful industry

Bismarck State College offers an instructor-led, online and on campus Power Plant Technology program. The Power Plant Technology program was created in response to industry demand for qualified power plant operators.

This program is designed for entry-level employment in the operation of modern fossil fuel power plants, gas turbine facilities, water treatment facilities, or other facilities where steam and/or electricity is generated. Graduates will learn the technical and safety aspects of plant operations, the responsibilities of plant operators, and the mechanical and chemical technology needed for working in related industrial operations.

Students have the following options:

  • Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Power Plant Technology.
  • Diploma in Power Plant Technology
  • Program Certificate in Power Plant Technology
  • Power Plant Technology Courses (college courses for professional development)

Bismarck State College is proud to include the fully-accredited Power Plant program along with other on-campus and online course offerings. We have been teaching customized programs for the energy industry for over 30 years and offer a wide range of services to help students succeed.
