Duane Steen

Duane Steen currently holds the position of Manager New Generation Development in the Power Production Department for Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. in Bismarck.

In this position, he is responsible for analysis and development of future generation options for MDU including coal fired base load generation, combustion turbines, renewables including wind and distributed generation such as microturbines and fuel cells. He has 33 years experience in power generation.

A graduate of North Dakota State University in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Steen started his MDU career as an engineer in a coal fired power station. Advancements included Station Manager of the Lewis & Clark Station at Sidney, Montana and Station Manager of the R. M. Heskett Station in Mandan, North Dakota.

Mr. Steen is a Registered Professional Engineer in North Dakota.
