How Do I Get Started?

Apply for Admission to BSC: If you would like to apply online and pay your application fee (if applicable) by credit card, check card or electronic check, please go online to bismarckstate.edu/prospectivestudents/application.asp.
Note: You must have a valid email address to apply online.

Submit the $35.00 application fee: This can be done by calling the Student Finance Office at (701) 224-5533, (701) 224-5706 or (800) 445-5073. You can also mail payment to:

Attn: Admissions
PO Box 5587
Bismarck, ND 58506-5587
Fulfill all admissions requirements, including:

High School Transcripts/GED Results: Students who have 24 or more college credits are exempt from this requirement. Contact your high school to mail an official copy of your transcript. Transcripts need to be mailed officially sent (in a sealed envelope) from the schools to: Bismarck State College, Attn: Admissions, PO Box 5587, Bismarck, ND 58506-5587
If you completed the GED (high school equivalency) exam, have a copy of results sent to BSC.

College Transcripts: If you have attended other colleges, request an official transcript to be sent to BSC. Transcripts need to be mailed officially sent (in a sealed envelope) from the schools to: Bismarck State College,Attn: Admissions, PO Box 5587, Bismarck, ND 58506-5587

Assessment Scores: All students who plan to be degree-seeking and/or take an English or Math course must submit appropriate assessment scores prior to enrollment. If you have not previously completed a college level Math and/or English, an ACT score is required for students under age 25. For students 25 and older a COMPASS or ACCUPLACER score is required. ACT scores more than five years old and COMPASS or ACCUPLACER scores more than three years old are considered expired.

Upon completion of your application and submission of the application fee, you will be contacted by email within 2-3 business days. If you do not see an email in your Inbox, please make sure to also check your spam or junk mail folders.
