RESOURCE MENU

Resource Development helps you find the external grant dollars needed for special projects and activities that can not be funded through the college's usual resources. Our services include:

Funding source identification
Project design and planning assistance
Proposal writing assistance
Proposal coordination
Project budget development
Project approval

We assist administrators, faculty, and staff in preparing proposals for submission to appropriate federal and state agencies, to corporations and to foundations. Please let us know about your ideas for projects that:

Advance the strategic goals of the college
Help BSC meet existing needs
Pilot new strategies, activities and/or pedagogy

HRSA Awards Grant for Nursing Scholarships
The Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded Bismarck State College a $23,791 grant that provides scholarships for 2010/2011 to disadvantaged students enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing Program. The principal investigator is Jeff Jacobs (224-5441). The project starts July 1, 2010.

North Dakota Department of Commerce Awards Two Grants
The North Dakota Department of Commerce provided a $96,990 Workforce Enhancement Grant Project to BSC to implement a program with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR). The funds will purchase welding simulators to train inmates in welding technology. Sara Vollmer (701-224-5639) is the project director for this program. The second grant, $102,116, provides equipment for the Electronics and Telecommunications program. Nick Kjos, (701-224-5598) is the project director for this grant.

NDHC Awards Grant
The North Dakota Humanities Council (NDHC) awarded Bismarck State College a $15,000 grant to support the 2010 Conversations at BSC between Humanities Scholar Clay Jenkinson and BSC President Dr. Larry Skogen. The project director is Robin Thorstenson (701-224-5683).
